Bmw may start fine when cold, but if it warms up, it will refuse to start. Get an obdii smart phone/tablet app and interface, typically $30 or less. If it goes way below that it suggests that the cranking capability of the battery could be suspect.
Think about what the cold weather can effect. 10 minutes is a fantastic practice in cold weather. Most cold start problems are typically vacuum leaks.

Also check the air filter. Bmw will not start up right away when cold u have to keep turning the key for car to start after about 4 times it will start an drive. I have a 2003 bmw 325i that won't start on cold mornings (aroudn 32 degrees or lower).
As you switch the engine on and it starts to turn over you should see the voltage drop down maybe to 9.x volts. Any of the following can cause this problem. Ya maybe because i have to pump it a ton of times then hold my foot down to.

I changed the alternator and battery 2 months ago. You need the triangle of ignition. The ecu knows that the engine is in cold starting mode when the following conditions are met.
